Firm Profile
Sterling Partners is a private equity firm founded by entrepreneurs. Since 1983, we have partnered with superior management teams, injecting our experience and Business Value Accelerator (BVA) methodology to help entrepreneurs and business owners stimulate and sustain significant growth. We invest in companies with strong business fundamentals and collaborate closely with management to deliver the right tools and additional resources necessary to excel in today's challenging business environment. Rather than operate the companies in which we invest, we prefer to serve as a resource for management as it navigates for accelerated growth.
Our team of operating and investing professionals has extensive backgrounds in sales, marketing, strategy, operations, finance, legal, and human resources. From these cumulative experiences, we have developed a proprietary methodology that sets The Growth Standard, our BVA. BVA places a strong emphasis on developing and coaching our management teams while providing our portfolio companies with effective, best practices that enhance their existing core strengths.
We invest in industries with positive, long-term trends and leverage our experience, expertise, and network to drive value to our portfolio companies. Our industries of focus include education, healthcare, business services, direct marketing, specialty manufacturing and distribution, and technology.
With nearly $4 billion of capital under management, our investment strategy is to invest from $5 million to over $100 million of equity in each company with which we partner. Our funds are divided among two investment groups: Sterling Capital Partners, which invests in small and middle-market buyout transactions, and Sterling Venture Partners, which provides growth capital for expansion stage companies in which we assume a non-controlling interest.

"Sterling Partners is all about a set of relationships; special relationships
where people count on each other, trust each other, depend on each other, and know
that we'll be there for each other in the long run."
